The Development of the Package

Using Artios CAD, we created a clean, modern structural design for our signature fragrance packaging. The design for this package was to enforce an easy and accessible opening for the customers. There is a special cutout feature present on the box that allows you to see the product inside of the box.

Shown above is the package's die line for the box, which used Artios CAD to create it. The type of box created was a type of tuck-top box that was made out of 18-point paperboard. Once all of this was dimensioned out, the file was saved as a collada file and exported into Adobe Illustrator 2023. This is where we were able to make the unique cutout shape of the box. A graphic of a pear was downloaded onto the computer and placed in to the Illustrator artboard that was being used. The image was traced and assigned the cut swatch as the stroke of the image. The image was then placed on the front panel of the box dimensions and then was exported back as an Artios CAD file. This was done by having the original A3D file (regular die line) open and update it by opening the new ARD file, saved from Illustrator. This was then transformed into 3D which you will see down below.

3D Package

To the right is the 3D image of the bottle inside its package. This was created by exporting the 3D ARD file from Artios CAD to an output collada file from 3D (ZAE). This file was then loaded back into Adobe Illustrator to show the new die line created with the product inside of it. ESKO Studio Designer allowed us to see the full product in package image while we worked on the graphics of the package. At this point in the production process no graphics had been designed or thought of so the box appears grey.
